The Anatomy department deals with the study of Human body parts by Exploring inside the body. It has a fully ventilated Dissection hall with sufficient tables and dead bodies. The bodies are received by the Donors and through social organization. The department has the latest highly effective digital Anatomage table for indepth study and explore minute structures in detail.

The Histology lab is well equipped with 100 microscopes for individual students study. The Museum exhibits varieties of specimens and Embryology models. It has multiple view boxes to study & compare the CT scan MRI and radiographic images of the body.

The department has student friendly Teachers with good experience and following the competency based teaching curriculum. Students in the Department are encouraged to take up the Research projects, post graduate studies and Ph.D in various topics and clinical fields.

Department of Anesthesiology

The Anaesthesia Department of GMCH provides comprehensive 24/7 services, ensuring uninterrupted support for elective and emergency procedures across all specialties. The team is highly proficient in managing high-risk surgical and obstetric cases and offers specialized anaesthesia services for neuro, cardiac, oncological, maxillofacial, gastrointestinal, urological, and paediatric surgeries. Labour analgesia is provided to parturients on demand, ensuring a safe and comfortable birthing experience. Department of Biochemistry

The Biochemistry department is well-equipped to support both academic learning and research activities. It houses a NABL-accredited Central Biochemistry Laboratory integrated with the hospital’s Department of Laboratory Medicine, conducting routine and emergency diagnostic services using advanced equipment such as COBAS analyzers, spectrophotometers, and ABG machines. Students receive hands-on training with essential lab instruments and follow strict SOPs and bio-safety protocols. Department of Cardiology

Geetanjali Cardiac Center is equipped with two advance state of art cathlabs i.e, Siemens artis zee (GCC) pure advance & three advance echo machines including Phillips i33/GE vivid E95/Phillips epis with over 80 beds dedicated for cardiac patient & 40 bedded CCU with all critical care facilities & a dedicated team of 4 experienced cardiac consultants along with intensives/SRs/senior nursing staff to look after all critical patient and give them best possible care. GCC is performing all type of latest & complicated procedure in routine including Coronary artery disease interventions (Complex angioplasty/ Rotablation IVUS/IVL/Laser/Orbital Atherectomy), structural heart disease interventions (TAVI/ TEVAR/ BMV/ BPV/ BAV), Congenital heart disease interventions (ASD/VSD/PDA device closure/RVOT/PDA Stenting), arrhythmia interventions (EPS/RFA of AVRT/AVNRT), Peripheral artery disease interventions.

Department of Community Medicine

The Department of Community Medicine of GMCH was established in 2008 and plays a pivotal role in imparting preventive, promotive, and community-based healthcare education. With an annual intake of 250 undergraduate MBBS students and 3 postgraduate students, the department also offers a rotatory internship program and a recognized Ph.D. course in Community Medicine. It is actively involved in teaching, training, service, and research. The department runs the Family Adoption Program (FAP), initiated in 2021 as part of the CBME curriculum, under which over 2000 rural families have been adopted, ensuring longitudinal care and experiential learning for students. The Department regularly organizes celebrations of national and international health days such as World Health Day and AIDS Day across the college, hospital, and community, involving activities like rallies, role plays, and exhibitions to foster community engagement. Health education sessions are conducted in schools, villages, and anganwadis with a focus on maternal-child health, nutrition, and sanitation, supported by culturally appropriate IEC materials. Regular health camps are organized in underserved areas of Udaipur district, offering general checkups, NCD screening, and referrals by multidisciplinary teams. The department has been successfully conducting intercollegiate undergraduate quizzes for the past five years, with plans to expand to regional and national levels. Department of Cardiac Vascular & Thoracic Surgery (CTVS)

CTVS department of GMCH was started in 2013. We have two modular operation theatres and a 30 bedded CTVS ICU + 80 bedded ward. CTVS department deals with all types of cardiac, thoracic & vascular surgical procedures. Our department is the only department in the region, which is equipped with state of the art Extracorporeal Membrane oxygenation (ECMO) therapy, and only department in this region, which is approved by the Rajasthan Government for heart transplantation. We also do pediatric cardiac surgical procedures, so we have full spectrum of cardiac thoracic and vascular surgery. Over last 11 to 12 years, we have done about nine thousand operations in this department. The Department is running 6 years DrNB programme approved by the National Board of Examinations, Government of India with intake of 3 seats for training of future generation of Cardiac Thoracic & Vascular Surgeons. We have done many surgeries which are considered as first in the state of Rajasthan & first in the world.

Pharmacology is the basic medical science in its own rights. The department is functioning with the main objectives like- the correlation of strictly pharmacological information with the medicine as a whole, the re-interpretation of the actions and uses of well-established therapeutic agents in the light of recent advances in medical sciences; and it is also emphasized on the application of pharmacodynamics to therapeutics and to acquire the basic principles necessary for the rational use of drugs in daily practice.
